Seeking shelter from impending darkness
Laval, QC, May 2008
My in-laws live on the 12th floor, facing west. Their balcony provides a front-row seat to an ever changing landscape that always seems to offer up something new. I could never tire of moments or places like this.Your turn:
Got a similar vista in your own neck of the woods? Do tell! One more thing:
This photo continues the sky theme from this week's Thematic Photographic

Lovely sunset. I took a photo of rainclouds this afternoon, but I haven't put it up yet. We have some great sunsets here too.

I live on a hill. Across the valley on another hill is the Lutheran church and steeple. At the summer solstice, the sun sets directly over the steeple, before heading back south to do it all over again.
It's not exactly "home" but I did get a handful of interesting skyscapes during my 4th of July beach trip.
Hi Carmi - nice to meet you. Thanks for your comments on my blog.
I absolutely love the pic of those 2 old ladies. I'm not good at captions, but loved some of the ones you got. Especially the ones about checking out "cute tushes". Ha - ya never know what 2 elderly ladies talk about - it's not always pepto-bismol!
Loved the scene in Laval.
You really lived in DDO? I grew up in Pointe Claire. I have a son in DDO, a daughter in Lachine, and another son in Ottawa. Small world, ey?
Will check back often.
I live in Las Vegas, in the desert. During certain times of the year, we have the most incredible sunsets/sunrises, with glowing orange and pink clouds. Of course, in the the summer we don't. There's not a cloud to be found.
