|Whatever you do, don't go straight|
Blandford-Blenheim Township, ON
Sometimes when I'm on the road, I think about what it would be like without guidance. Then I shudder a little and return to my reverie. I doubt we really want to know.
For the next week, I'd like us all to explore the world of signs. They may be routine to the point of sub-consciousness, but I'd like to think a little extra attention will help us see them in a new light.
Your turn: Take a photo that evokes or suggests this week's theme, post it to your blog, website or other online home, then pop back here and leave a comment letting folks know where to find it. Visit other participants for additional encouragement and inspiration. Feel free to share multiple shots through the week, and don't be afraid to invite a friend, either. If you're a Twitter user, feel free to spread the joy using the #ThematicPhotographic hashtag. For more info on how Thematic works, click here. Oh, and one more thing: enjoy the process, because fun is what this whole thing is all about. Thanks!
If i can get there before deadline, i'll take one, but there is one sign-or more precisely its placement-i've always found humourous, as you come south on St John's rd. in Pointe Claire, QC, just south of Douglas Shand, is Lakeview Memorial Gardens... Just before the entrance to the cemetery is a sign with an arrow pointing to the entrance that says "Centre D'achats Pointe Claire Shopping Center" Obviously it is implying that you need to turn on El Dorado, the next street south to get there, but someone was either negligent when posting the sign, or had a wicked sense of humour!
Here are some signs.
And there is some trouble!
My sign is up at http://doves2day.blogspot.com
hey, Carmi, my sign is up!
Carmi, here we is our sign of the times.
Well you had me taking new photos this time Carmi and not relying on my archives! Here is my contribution.
Great thought. I'd like to think I stay straight by being bendable.
Oh, this is entirely too easy (so easy we may all be sorry) but here are a few:
Brace yourself, more later.
Here are my signs.
Carmi, I like the direction your photo is taking- beautiful location and I like this theme! Here's mine
I am digging into my archives for this one...my apologies if you have seen it already, but the theme is just too hard to pass up and the original situation to surreal to forget. A peace sign.
Had to get imaginative with this one!
Some times gone by.
Carmi, while I was posting for Alphabe-Thursday, my story was all about signs, so it's a two for one! Go here
(mmp is dormant right now and will remain so for the time being....but my images will hopefully remain here....)
This sign was snapped on holiday and it STILL makes no sense to me
Whereas this makes all the sense in the world.
Hey y'all! I know I'm late, but here's my submission: http://jessbrady1035.wordpress.com/2013/08/04/thematic-photographic-254-signs-of-the-times/
