Animated thirst

Pop goes the world
London, ON, July 2009

Every time I look at this photo, I think back to the episode of The Simpsons where Principal Skinner implores Groundskeeper Willie to keep watering down the orange drink as a means of maximizing profits. The quote that comes back, in his inimitable Scottish accent, will probably resonate in my head forever:
I have watered her down as far as she'll go. I cannot water no more
(Sound bite here. Others here.)
Note: Yes, I quote Simpsons. Prolifically. Hope this doesn't disappoint you. Next...

So as we continue our exploration of all things orange (see here for more) I offer this rather neon-ish take on the color that can make even the curmudgeonly among us happy, if only for a moment.

Your turn: Color as a catalyst for happiness. Please discuss.

Orange Dye # 12

Homer Simpson
Springfield Kentucky.

Fun Trivia Fact-

Although the popular lore is that the state the Simpsons live in is never shown, in an episode set in the future and showing the family as realistic t.v. characters,( a what ever happened to style of show) it was stated that they were from Northern Kentucky.

I've never been a huge fan of "fruity" sodas -- even as a kid. But I have to confess, there's an aesthetic appeal to the orange variety. Especially when it's so well rendered. Maybe it's just a happy color. Anyway, for my final entry, I've got a way to work up a thirst.

And I never knew that about the Simpsons. Kentucky, huh? Funny, they don't sound Kentuckian.

You make the most ordinary things look interesting.

I'm not disappointed - I love that you quote the Simpsons.

I posted my orange at http://finallyfiguringitout.blogspot.com/2009/11/thematic-photographic-76-orange.html
