On enemies

"You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life."
Winston Churchill
Your turn: Ever stand up for something and end up paying the price?

All the time.
I am a school teacher. I stand up for making kids responsible for their own learning and their own work. Taking this view means I am under a constant deluge of harassment from the US media, the legislators in the state of Utah, and from many parents who believe that their children are precious little darlings and that it's my fault if they refuse to learn. (Naturally, no one ever points out that the kids who take this responsibility for learning upon themselves are the ones who succeed.)

I don't know if I have enemies, but I do not that some people strongly dislike me...I think as Don Quixote "Ladran, Sancho: seƱal que cabalgamos" (They bark, Sancho: a sign that we are moving)

@Lisa: Thank you for doing that... Kids need and respect not only discipline but someone who will make them responsible for themselves...My son loved it when I gave him more responsibility... Responsibility is a way for all of us to prove not only that we can do the task but also show others what we can do. It earns respect.
