Ain't that the truth... Smokers, drinkers seem to turn a blind eye till they are struck w/lung cancer, emphysema, cirrhosis of the liver, etc...

I currently have an elephant sitting on my chest, so I heartily agree with this statement!
my Dad told me something like this when my step mom was dying of cancer
And when sickness comes knocking frequently.....then frequently good health is valued.
The last few years have seen me value my health more than at ANY other time in my entire life
i just took so much for ....
90 days of whooping cough just taught me that lesson, for sure. It wasn't until I was on the mend, however, that I realized how much I took for granted. When people asked how I was, my reply was, "I'm fine unless I laugh or cry." Basically trying to have no emotions puts one in a very dreary place. I wouldn't recommend it.
