It's small, it's kicky, and it can look pretty damn cool if you take the time to shoot it from the right angles. Come to think of it, the coolness of a given shot often has more to do with the composition than the subject.
I used this car - a pumpkin-colored Toyota Yaris that I rented for a couple of days last month - as a testbed for this new theory of mine. I borrowed one of the resulting photos to launch my newest weekly photo theme extravaganza, Thematic Photographic (click here for the inaugural entry. I'll wait here while you do.)
Your turn: Making the ordinary look extraordinary through your lens. Please discuss.
One more thing: We're still looking for captions for this week's Caption This. Click here to stick around for some more photographic fun.

Very cool! But tell me... why does it look like a reflection of the Eiffel Tower in the side... could it.. no?.... OH. Well! It doesn't hurt to let one's imagination run away on occasion, does it!
making the ordinary extraordinary. Isn't that what art is all about? There are a million beautiful moment in ordinary every day things. It's up to us to have a camera ready, no?
Awesome shot! Much more interesting by the reflections you captured.
What a great meme! Thanks for the visit and for telling me about this! I am so in! *runs off to create a button for her blogroll* Mwah! Thank you thank you! I'll set it up for my... um... Monday meme, I guess? That'll give me from Wednesday when you reveal the week's theme 'til Monday to post my take on it. That way I have the weekend to work on it. Will that work?

Striking array of colors from an everyday object (I think). Great photo.
Colorful
wow what a talented shot!
A Yaris never looked so good. Great shot.
Heading off now to check out your new photo project.
great shot :)
Love the reflections on the car. Happy WW!
That is a pretty great shot. Mine is up on http://momworksathome.net/
Very nice shot indeed! I would not think a Yaris could be so glamorous!
Love your pics. Always interesting to see the most ordinary in different ways.
Perspective can be key to composition and therefore make or break a shot in terms of the "coolness" factor. It can also make your subject look completely different than it does in real life.

Yes, it is a cool shot! :)
Cool reflections.
As usual Carmi, you've transformed something ordinary into something extraordinary. Love the reflection and how it almost looks ... textured, yet I know it's smooth as glass to the touch.
Very nice. I hope you and your family are doing well!

Excellent shot, Carmi. I love the reflections. You've definitely inspired me to go find something ordinary and find an extraordinary angle. :D
I normally don't like colors such as this but from that angle, it's a really nice color!
Happy WW!

What a cool shot. Interesting angle and wonderful color and reflections.
Love the color! It´s definitely and interesting shot. I did a fun shot, too for my WW, but not quite as beautiful. ;)
Interesting perspective!
Wow, what a great shot! I love taking shots from different angles to get a cool shot. You GOT a COOL shot!!
Happy WW!
Another great shot, Carmi!
The Yaris and the Prius are showing up in droves here in NJ as gas prices continue to climb. Better for me - since I travel in a small car (Saturn Ion), it's sometimes hard to see what's in front of you when everything is blocked by the super SUV's.
Cool picture! Happy WW
How have you been??
Haven't been around lately!!
Give me a holler!!
Ok, forget the last comment....I just saw that you stopped by....
Thanks for the happy thoughts for my surgery...
may be I can get some cool pics for next WW!!

Great shot, too.

Your meme sounds interesting.
Wow, great shot, Carmi! Makes the car look stunning. It's amazing what a beautiful photograph can do for the ordinary.
