I didn’t know her on the day she was born, but still my life changed for the better with her arrival.
And as she marks the end of another year and the beginning of the next, I can’t help but think that the universe was smiling on us all when she first showed up.
She is the very centre of our family, the star around which we all move through our respective orbits, the place family and friends alike always seem to go when they need sanctuary, guidance, or a little bit of both.
Our kids know she’ll pick up the phone 24/7/365 - unless she’s already reached out to them first. She has a sense of family that can’t be described in words, and I’m in awe of her not only on her birthday, but every other day of the year.
Happy, happy birthday, my phenomenal Debbie - and thank you for making even the ordinary days worthy of celebration.
