Are you a pirate?

What do I know about Canadian copyright law and its impact on consumer technology? Apparently, enough to chat about it on-air.

I was privileged to speak with CTV's Don Martin this week after Heritage Minister James Moore introduced legislation that would update Canada's copyright laws - which date way back to 1938. He interviewed me on his show, Power Play, which originates from Parliament Hill in Ottawa, right after he spoke to the minister. Here's the video.

Cool fact: I did the hit from the anchor desk at the CTV London studio. I usually use a side studio for interviews like this, but this time they ushered me into the middle of the newsroom when I got there. Somewhat surreal. And neat. Even cooler, the network picked up a clip and included it in Roger Smith's report on the CTV National News. Video is here.

Man, what a journey this is turning out to be.

Hey, looking good on TV. And you can tell it's Canadian TV as the opening commercial was for a snow blower!

I saw you on Power Play and thought, isn't that the guy from the blog? You did a good job of clarifying the issue.

I am one of the few people I know who actually watch Power Play, so I wonder how many people saw the interview. Maybe, next time, you'll be on another of my favourite shows, Power and Politics on CBC.

I am thinking of forming the habit of listening to The House, on CBC radio. So off I go to hear an episode, now hosted by Evan Solomon.

Keep on being good-looking and articulate!

Thanks for the video links, Carmi. You look different without the hat.

You covered an interesting topic even if I'm not a Canadian.

What a great smile you have!
I thought you explained the issues really well - great job!

And in reference to your earlier post, Spell much?, I wasn't even distracted by the caption under the clip on the website :(
